Des Taylor is inspired by “Real People” and capturing a moment that people can relate to. His Girls are sassy, cool, funky and desirable. Always leaving something to the imagination, he wants his drawings to reflect the power of the female form. His inspiration comes from girls and fashion of the street, together with Comic book artists such as Bruce Timm and Jack Kirby and great Gallery artists such as Toulouse Lautrec and Roy Lichtenstein. He studied at West Herts. College, Watford where he received an HND in Graphic Design and Image making and has been freelance ever since.

In the summer of 2005, Des started to flesh out the comics character Katie Rogers. The character is a fictional English-born publicist working in Manhattan. He took inspiration from his visits to New York City; mixed with his experiences around the girls he had met working as a freelance illustrator on glossy women’s magazines. In 2009 San Diego-based Ape Entertainment brought out the first Katie Rogers graphic novel.

In December 2009, Des Taylor hosted his first art exhibition-THE ART OF DES TAYLOR at the Maverick showroom in London’s East End.

In February 2011, The Vesha Valentine Story was published by Slave Labor Graphics. A graphic novel which chronicles the life of a fictional 1950′s burlesque dancer and movie star.
